That quote makes me laugh. And feel better about myself. This lifestyle of writing is certainly strenuous, but then, the fulfillment of an idea in the compact form of a story is about the most satisfying thing I can think of. So here I am. This is me, at my desk, writing away. I think it was Anne Morrow Lindbergh who said that a good writer ought to have a desk with sun streaming in over the right shoulder. Well, I have just that. Plus a good notebook, a slender pen, and a sturdy little computer to prod loose and catch the clusters of my ripe words. I feel like a fruit laden apple tree in brain of late; all these ideas have been swelling in my head regardless of the rush and fun and now, it’s time for the harvest. My mental muscles already feel a bit sore from the past few days, but they’ll strengthen, they’ll learn to pull a steady weight. And in the end, I will hopefully present to the world a well reaped orchard in the form of three (yes three!) well-piled books.
