  • I forgot to ask what you thought of my Angels? Will they make the list?

  • HI,
I am just wondering where you bought the CD for your mom based on the movie, The Lady’s in Lavendar. I would love to purchase it for myself but am having a hard time finding it.

Thank you so much. I love your blog!

  • Hello Annie,

I found the Ladies in Lavendar soundtrak at Barnes and Noble, but I also have seen copies for sale recently on Amazon. If it’s any help, the featured violinist is Joshua Bell. Good luck, I know you’ll love it when you get it!

  • Based on your taste in music, I am thinking you would like this album – you can hear samples of it on amazon.com:

Hi, I am a friend of Mike Todd. I was over at Rob Parris’ house, a mutual friend. Given my (and Mike’s) experience in nursing school, conversation turned to differences in gender perceptual patterns and the role that emotion plays in processing information. We pined for a female perspective that was different. In Western Kentucky, we find two types, the house wife and the liberal academic type. We value both, but needed something fresh. This is a long introduction to say that your name came up. World traveler, home-schooled, published, headed to college in mid-twenties – these seemed an interesting mix of circumstances that suggested a perspective freed from societal indoctrination. So, we decided to locate your blog. I am not suggesting that you comment on this involved topic, rather this is just an interesting story on how we found your blog. On a seemingly unrelated topic, after we perused your blog, we wondered if you liked the movie The Village, or just the soundtrack? Did you find that it said anything interesting about organized religion or faith in general? From a philosophical perspective, I thought the movie was a brilliant literary commentary on the religious impulse of humanity. At the same time, I wondered if many Christians would be turned off perceiving it as an analogy that portrayed the religious impulse as a force that creates enclaves of individuals seeking an escape from hard reality – individuals willing to make up false constraints to preserve the reality that they have purified.
